The James Swanwick Show

How harmful can blue light be? Well, besides disrupting our melatonin production, it’s been linked to a myriad of diseases including cancer. During the day, you don’t really need to worry about your blue light your exposure …but at night it’s a different story. Until the advent of artificial lighting, the sun was the major source of lighting, and people spent their evenings in relative darkness, besides natural candlelight.  But nowadays, easing into bed with a laptop or tablet makes it harder to take a strong snooze, because it mimics the sun (signaling to you it’s daytime).  But there is hope! You can wear specially designed blue blocker glasses, which have an orange tint on the lens, that block most of the harmful light. Think of the orange construction glasses. Ideally you want to wear these 4 hours before bed, so your body can prepare for the night soon ahead. Enjoy the show!
